Where my stitches at?
On Saturday, December 10th, bring your own sewing machine, fabric, and supplies and spend the morning learning the basics of garment making. You'll have until we close (or a little later) to finish up your very own tank top! (In the South, y'all know this is a year-round wardrobe staple.) Class will cost $25, which includes your pattern (which is available for purchase at Maiden South outside of class for $18 - the pattern itself also includes the option to make a dress!). Instruction will be provided by Marlene Free, who has many moons of teaching home economics under her stylish belt.
Class participants will bring: - woven fabric per pattern measurements (cotton, linen, etc, - no knits) - sewing machine - fabric scissors - hem gauge - seam ripper (optional) - straight pins - thread to match fabric
Shoot us an email to firstname.lastname@example.org to sign up, for more details, and join the #slowclothes movement with us! For more details on the pattern, see below or visit Grainline Studio.
